Saturday - Vacation is Half Over....

Good morning from sunny Aruba! Well...we have hit the half way point. Awaiting the arrival of our wk22 friends! Move to our 2bedroom unit today. Went for a beach run early this morning...so nice. Nick's batthing suit flies off the balcony! Luckily someone finds it and turns it in yay! Went to the litehouse for dinner last night. Very nice...food and service were great. We had not been there in probably 5yrs. Will definitely return.
Tonite is Smokey Joe's for dinner....Sunset was awesome last night. Big orange ball of fire! Got great pics.
Oh...tried a new beer last night...Balashi Chill.....was great...gonna pick some up today...I am sure it is cheaper than $54.00 for 24 cans or Miller Lite...or $38.00 for 24c of Amstel Bright!

Ok....that's it for today....more sun, sand and a drink in my hand today!

Friday - Wk1 - Aruba 2011

Good morning.....gonna sound like groundhog day! Sunny....and beautiful! Got a bit too much sun yesterday. Need to be more careful today re-applying sun screen! Let's see....went to the Butterfly farm. Got some pretty pictures. Went to the market for a few things. This year have been exploring all the markets...each one has something better than the others. Have been to Super Foods, Hong King, Ling&Sons.
I think what did me in for the sun was that around 3pm I walked all the way to the Marriott and back. Did not think it would be too bad since it was hazy sun....wrong! Anyways...it was another great day. Ate dinner at Bingo's last night. Met a couple from Westwood...the guy is a hoot! Does all these personality imitations. We are going to Buster's tonite to watch the Bruins game with them.
Today is laundry day...big woop! Think I will go up to the litehouse this morning looking for photo ops!
Count down is 1 for wk 22 buds! We got the drinks on ice for ya! Safe travels and see you real soon!

Aruba Day 5 - Thursday

Good morning from Aruba! It is a bit cloudy right now...but I am sure it will clear. Saw Julio at the beach and he helped set my hut up for the day...#41....
Yesterday I went off exploring and went to the Casabri(sp?) Rock formations. Very cool. Nice view of the island after you climb up the rocks through the narrow passage way. Took lots of pics. Then below are paths that are covered in a canape of trees. So...I proceeded slowly and caustiously because I was concerned up Boa snakes hanging from trees. They have a big problem on the island now with these creepy snakes. So much so, they are having an open hunt soon. Anyways...I did not see any creepy snakes...but what I did see was an owl. I slowly put the big lense on and started snapping away. He just watched me. Then I noticed above me movement....it was another one. Possibly a young fledgling. Took tons of pics. This was a first for me in Aruba. Today I may head up to the desert by the lighthouse...
Last night ate dinner in with Ricky & Marianne. It was Karaoke night at the resort. Of course Ricky rocked the house singing Elvis songs! There was another guy who did Elvis and he was equally as good. Then me & 4 other ladies got up and sang Sweet Caroline! OMG....were we horrid! It was fun anyways.

I guess that's it for today....need to hit the gym....goto the market....(more beer please).....and go sit in the sun! Count down is close for the week 22 friends! See ya'll real soon!!

Aruba - Day 4

Good Morning Everyone....well....finally saw an awesome sunset last night. Snapped lots of pics. Going to see later on if the other camera can upload pics. If not, will have to wait until I get home.
Yesterday was "Spa Day"....it was wonderful! Another day of hanging on the beach...I did do about a half mile swim with some peops..that was yesterdays main exercise.  We did get too much sun yesterday...even after wearing #30...I guess I did not apply often enough..oh...it is not that bad. The resort had a managers party at 6pm. This was fun and "Elvis" made his debut in Aruba once again! The crowd went crazy!
We ate dinner in last night...grilled chix kebabs and salad. Today is another day....probably do the gym....and I think I will do some driving around to take some pics...maybe go find the baby goats. Tonite is karaoke night so...Elvis will once again make an appearance!

Tuesday 5/24 - Good Morning From Sunny Aruba!

Hi Everyone....it is another nice day in paradise. The weather has been great. Disappointed in the sunsets though. The only good one so far was on Sat when we got here and the storms had cleared out. This made for a clear horizon. Of course I did not have my camera down on the beach that night! Oh well....more to come.
Yesterday worked out in the gym...walked the beach...took some pics...swam.....floated.....ate....drank...repeat!

Last night ate at the Pam Pam restaurant. Was very good. They have changed the menu since last being there 2 yrs ago. Nice ambiance....good food....good service...cost for 2 peops...$99.00

Today is spa day! Heading for my massage at 10am at SpaDel Sol at Manchebo....oh can't wait.
May fit in an exercise swim before that. Then floating and drinking oh...an eating will be on tap for the day.

Not sure what we are doing for dinner tonite...that is one of the bigger decisions of the day! We are looking forward to our friends arriving on Sat....I guess that is it for now....

Monday 5/23 - Settling In!

Good morning all....yesterday was a day of getting settled...ya know..important things like going to the market..buying food...buying plenty of beer...choosing the perfect hut! All done...today...is a do what ever you want day.
Yesterday I ran a couple miles on the beach since the gym opened later. Today I will do the gym. We basically hung out on the beach until sunset...had drinks...swam...repeat! The weather has turned around here and is sunny, breezy and beautiful.
I thought I was going to be able to post pics, but it looks like they have this blocked...poo!
We ate dinner in with Ricky & Marianne...had a nice Italian dinner...yummo! Tonite we will go out somewhere. Today will be more of the same...I will probably go off on some photo journeys too.
That's it for now....I really want to get pics posted...will see what I can do. Later......

Sun 5/31 - Good Morning Aruba!

I see the sun coming up! Yay! Coffee on the deck...visit my pool boys...they set us up with our spot on the beach. Ready to start today. Gonna work out in the gym...then the major food shopping....let the day begin!

Saturday 5-30: We are here!

Finally made it! Yesterday our flight left late(10:15)..on the ground in Aruba by 2:40. Coming in got a bit scary. They were going in for a landing and we were at about 1200ft...then...they aborted the landing and ascended again. I guess the problem was a fast moving rain storm. Anyways...landed safely. Got our car from Top Drive rental. No problems. On to the market to get breakfast stuff and BEER!

Checked in...and down to the beach..........Ahhhhhh.....saw all my pool boy buddies....Welcome home they say!

Ricky & Marianne arrived from NY...hung on the beach until after dark...had burgers and drinks at the Pure Beach.....danced a bit...then nitey nite!

The Countdown Is On!

10....yup 10 more days....my computer says.....1 week....3 days....7hrs...20mins....20 secs...until touchdown Aruba!

How many days?

Ahhh....11 days until "The Sun and The Sand and a Drink In My Hand...." but who's counting!

Preparing For Aruba 2011

Mon May 9th - Going to try using this blog for posting updates while on vaca in Aruba! We leave May 21st....and it won't get here fast enough!
